TALLADEGA COUNTY -- John Allen, 36, of Alpine, was officially sworn in as Talladega County revenue commissioner Tuesday by Talladega County District Court Judge Ryan Rumsey.
Allen previously served as an appraiser II for the Revenue Department’s Sylacauga office. He was recently appointed to serve as revenue commissioner by Gov. Kay Ivey. He is succeeding former Talladega County Revenue Commissioner Sally Flowers, who took office in May of 2009.
Allen is a graduate of Vincent High School and the University of Montevallo. He and his wife, Leah, will welcome a baby boy later this spring. The newly appointed revenue commissioner said his main goals are “to provide better accessibility and transparency to Talladega County residents.”
