Commissioner Phillip Morris is a lifelong resident of District 5 and resides with his wife, Robin, in Sylacauga. They have two children and two grandchildren.  He is the owner of Morris Custom Marble & Granite, a 40-year-old family-owned business. Phillip enjoys spending time with his family, music (playing drums), vintage cars, boating, and animal rescue.

His 20+ years of public service include: Sylacauga City Council Member; liaison to the Sylacauga Utilities Board, member of the Sylacauga Industrial Development Board, member of the E-911 Board for Talladega County, Chairman of the Sylacauga Planning & Zoning Commission, Vice Chairman and City Council Liaison of the Animal Rescue Foundation, and Volunteer Firefighter at Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

Phillip’s goals for Talladega County include infrastructure maintenance (roadways, bridges), maintaining a balanced budget, litter prevention/removal, job creation, public safety, animal control, and promoting tourism in Talladega County.

Commissioner Morris began serving his first term November 2020.
